About Us
After spending months refurbishing the previous home to the Harpers Five and Dime Store (c. 1930), we proudly opened our doors on December 15, 2000. We’ve realized our goal of opening an establishment with great food, drinks, a great location, great patrons, and always something entertaining to do.
We are located on historic Ram Cat Alley where, in the early 1900s when the train was still king, fresh fish and meat would be shipped to Seneca merchants, packed in ice. Local grocers on West Main Street were invariably greeted not only by patrons, but by legions of stray cats, enticed by the possibility of getting a meal from scraps tossed by generous grocers and customers. There were so many furry frequenters, the story goes, that locals would exclaim in bewilderment that it wasn’t possible to “ram another cat in the alley.”
