Train Spotting
The center of Seneca was a stake driven less than 50 yards from our deck. The intersection of the railroad tracks (now Railroad Street) and the current Townville Street marked the beginning of the City of Seneca. Land was the divided into lots for half a mile around that stake. The train yard across from our deck was a busy switching station with a train depot just down the street.
Today, the trains still pass throughout the day, beginning at 6:30am with the commuters on Amtrak. Watch the trains go by, seated on our shaded deck where meals and cold refreshments are served.
